Learning Platforms

I am currently responsible for the roll out of learning Platforms across all schools in Wokingham LA.

The role has it challenges but is also a very exciting development for our all of our schools and EYFS settings.

Learning Platform lead role

I act as the main point of contact for Learning Platform matters and as the main link between the Local Authority, Schools and the company providing the Learning Platform.

I have the responsibility for:

Overseeing and quality assuring the training, managing the balance of technical and curriculum training and ensuring training is delivered to appropriate timescales.
Delivering or organising the delivery of additional training by Local Authority consultants, Leading Teachers, ASTs, etc.
Ensuring schools are engaging properly with the LP project and not ‘falling by the wayside’ after an initial engagement. Supporting schools where necessary in relation to this.
Encouraging schools to develop Learning Platform champions.
Setting up mechanisms for disseminating and celebrating achievements with the use of the Learning Platform.
Leading discussions on how the Local Authority hub site will function in relation to the existing Council website.
Supporting good communications between all clients (school staff, pupils, parents, Local Authority, others).
Liaising as required with content providers
Taking a lead on how the Learning Platform product should develop to meet the needs of Wokingham schools.
Another area currently in development is the role of the learning platform in our EYFS settings, in particular developing an electronic collection of eveidenve for the EYFS assessment

Much of my time on this project is spent in schools:

Devloping a vision for the learning platform in their school
Working with staff and teaching assitants, training and embedding in teaching and learning
Working with learning platform managers in setting it up
Working with classes alongside their teachers developing E portfolios and collaborative tools

But we also run a number of courses centrally
